For a proper Sunday lunch near Exeter, The Salutation Inn in Topsham brings together classic roasts, seasonal vegetables, proper gravy and all the trimmings in the relaxed setting of a restored Devon coaching inn.
Lunch is served on Sundays from 12:00 to 14:00, with the restaurant also open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and drinks throughout the week. The Salutation is found on Fore Street in the heart of Topsham, around 20 minutes from Exeter city centre by car and a short walk from Topsham station.
BOOK SUNDAY LUNCH
Topsham gives Sunday a little more breathing room. Come for a walk by the Exe, meet family for lunch, or make an afternoon of it with drinks, coffee or dessert afterwards.
The Sunday menu changes, but the current sample includes Salutation roasts served with roast potatoes, root vegetables, green vegetables and gravy, with examples including porchetta with apple sauce and West Country sirloin of beef with horseradish cream and Yorkshire pudding.

For guests who want to stretch Sunday into a proper break, The Salutation also offers a Sunday Stay option from May, including a 3-course Sunday lunch, bed and breakfast.
Rooms and suites are available, with downstairs closed on Sunday evenings so guests can enjoy Topsham or settle into the comfort of their room.
