Our Accommodation

A comfortable night's sleep in an ancient Inn with modern facilities

Within The Salutation, we offer two suites and four bedrooms and The Flat, all with individual decor and modern features.

On the first floor the 'Galley Room' is available during your stay for hot drinks and treats to help yourself or room service for morning coffee or afternoon tea. Breakfast served everyday from 8.30am till 11am. The Galley room on the first floor is our little residents kitchen featuring coffee machine, tea making facilities, cereals and toast.

The Flat, is our self-catering dog-friendly accommodation in the centre of Topsham where you can enjoy a minimum of two nights with your own kitchenette. Please see further info if you're thinking of bringing your pooch along.

Room 1 – Junior Suite – a deluxe room with additional seating area, super king size bed, bath, and separate shower. Tea and coffee facilities. Can be twinned. Can have double sofa bed or cot or both.

Room 5 – Classic Double – Large room with walk in shower, separate toilet, super king size bed looking over the main street. Can be twinned. Has room for cot or z bed.

Room 6 – Classic Double – Queen size bed. Beautiful and light room, with bath and shower with views over the main Street.

Room 7 – Master Suite situated on the top floor, super king size bed with separate lounge, which can accommodate a further two on a sofa bed. With bath and shower. Tea and coffee facilities.

The Flat – Our self-catering dog-friendly room. A king size bed with walk in wet room. Kitchenette including stove, kettle, fridge.

Policies & Information


  • Please let us know if there is any dietaries we should be aware of throughout your stay.
  • Credit/Debit card details will be taken in advance to act as confirmation for the bookings.
  • We have disabled access to ground floor and toilet facilities.
  • Wi-Fi – complimentary. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
  • Over the weekend we have a 2 night minimum stay policy between May 1st and September 30th.
  • Room 1 or Room 7 can accommodate up to 4 people on double sofa bed.

Cancellation Fees

Please note our kitchen and downstairs areas are Closed evenings Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Dinner served Wednesday to Saturday. Cancellation Fees A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for accommodation, if less than 24 hours, 100% of the agreed rate shall be chargeable and between 24 hours and 48 hours 50% shall be chargeable.

  • Room 1 up to 2 on a double sofa bed
  • Room 5 1 on a single Z BED
  • Room 7 up to 3, 2 on sofa bed and 1 on Z BED
  • Over the weekend we have a 2 night minimum stay policy between May 1st and September 30th.
  • Room 1 or Room 7 can accommodate up to 4 people on double sofa bed.
  • Sunday and Monday the Kitchen is closed and check-in must be before 17:00pm
  • Let us know if there is any dietaries we should be aware of throughout your stay.

Topsham & Surrounding Area

An ancient port at the head of the Exe Estuary Topsham is vibrant with its interesting architecture and small streets, riverside quay and walkways. The Vikings, the Romans and many other visitors have chosen Topsham as the perfect stopping off place.

We are six miles from Exeter International Airport and two miles from M5 Junction 30. Topsham has its own railway station, bus routes and Marina and is on the Exe Cycle trail catering for whatever form of transport you care to use. It is famous for its RSPB Bird Reserve, Museum and with lots to do and explore Topsham is a special place. Whatever your pastime whether it is sailing, fishing, cycling, watersports, Rugby (Premier League) tennis, snooker, swimming, bowling, motor boats, walking.
