Coronavirus policy at The Salutation Inn

Last updated: 15th July 2021

Masks

The requirement to wear face coverings in law will be lifted from the 19th July. It will be your choice as a customer if you wish to wear a mask and it will not be mandatory for our staff to be wearing them.

Team Safety

It is important to emphasise that coronavirus does not present any food safety issue.

We will continue to monitor and follow the relevant Public Health England advice and your health and well-being is our priority.

We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance even if travelling within the UK from the time of booking.

FAQS

How can I protect myself from Coronavirus?

We advise you to follow all applicable travel and personal hygiene advice, including from Public Health England and the World Health Organisation.

Wash hands regularly with soap and water or a disinfectant, especially after coughing and sneezing, before handling and consuming food.

Use disposable tissues when coughing or sneezing and dispose of used tissues carefully and promptly.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Avoid close contact with people who appear unwell and avoid sharing personal items.

Public Health England (PHE) recommends against using masks outside clinical settings. Should you decide to use a mask, you should ensure you continue to use all the recommended precautions in order to minimise the risk of transmission.

Avoid unnecessary, unprotected contact with live animals and make sure you wash hands thoroughly after contact with an animal.

Should I cancel my booking?

The Salutation Inn is operating as normal and we look forward to welcoming you to the hotel and restaurant as planned. Normal terms and conditions apply for any amendments or cancellations. However, should the government’s advice change to prevent travel, please contact us to discuss your options, including moving your booking to a later date. Any cases of cancellation due to “Disinclination to travel” will be subject to our full cancellation policy.

What will happen if there is an outbreak at the hotel?

If there is an outbreak at The Salutation Inn, we will follow advice from Public Health England. Please comply with any additional screening measures that are put in place. If you develop symptoms, however mild, please follow the government’s advice.

As always, all our restaurants maintain the highest possible level of hygiene and are as always, cleaned regularly and meticulously with sanitisers, now so more than ever. We have been kitted out with extra hand sanitiser so please feel free to make use of this during your time with us.

Our team has been fully briefed with current government requirements and are undertaking extreme levels of health and safety procedures to ensure that guests and other staff members are safe.

We have reduced the number of tables in our restaurants to maximise space around diners and have changed our standard service procedures around cutlery changes and napkin folding to reduce contact.

Our team will be standing at a further distance from our guests and minimising close contact where possible. All our teams will be briefed and trained in our new enhanced cleaning procedures and the responsibility they have to their colleagues and guests.

Our Toilets shall be cleaned every hour.

Personal protective equipment is provided for necessary tasks and in use in accordance with government guidelines.
